Thanks Laura. I may have to search your past posts to see if you've already done a post on 'migrating blogger blogs to WordPress ones'!

Anne - It might be difficult for the search engines to know how to index your blog if you're doing both book reviews and photography on the same blog. On the other hand, separating your blogs means more work for you. If you do decide to create two blogs, keeping them on the same platform will save you some time.

And it is super-easy to migrate a Blogger blog to WordPress.org (self-hosted version).

I use Blogger, and on the whole it seems to suit my purpose well. There are a few things on it which I wish it did differently (or perhaps it does but I just don't know about it yet!), but broadly speaking I am happy with it, though I do cast an eye at WordPress from time to time. What I am currently at the point of though is splitting out my book reviews from my photography blog & so creating a second blog. When I do that, I will keep both blogs on the same platform, so that means either staying with Blogger - and the advantage that I know it, even if it's not perfect - or at that stage migrating both blogs away onto WordPress. We'll see.

I have also used several different systems, and I agree with you. WordPress is my favorite for productivity.

Wordpress is the better CMS not just for SEO. I know I’ve used them all… well the major ones at least, like Drupal and Joomla. I’ve seen great results now that I moved everything over to WP. Not only on traffic but on productivity as well. WP hands down is the best CMS out there.

I use Wordpress mostly because I had heard good things about so I gave it a try as a free one-click install from my webhost. Prior to that, my blogs were very blank as I struggled to learn Dreamweaver. Now, I don't even have to bother with any coding because the various plugins make life so easy.

Way to go, Sandra!

One thing I've noticed among people (myself included) who blog at multiple venues is that trying to keep up with several blogs and Web sites is hard work. If it works for you to consolidate your blogs into one (if they promote the same brand or are on similar topics), that'll help a lot.

Also, if you can put your Web site and your blog on the same site (WordPress.org works great for this), that will not only help your SEO, but it'll be less work for you.
