Pam,

I'm laughing over your comments. I've never heard "soup" pronounced "seaup" either. Kind of like they always pronounce "caramel" CARE-eh-mel to make it sound more sophisticated. In these here parts we just say CAR-mel.

Since I live in the Seattle area, I'm subjected to Bill Gates overload on a daily basis (our news media just can't seem to get enough of him). So of course, I subscribed to Bill's brand new Twitter account today (I was follower #193,000+; as of this minute, he has 223,838 followers). I wonder if he'll follow me back?

Since you're a Mac user, I doubt you'll want to follow the "real" Bill Gates, but just in case, here's his Twitter handle:

LOL, the ED commercials are definitely at the top of my list. We don't have Jack in the Box in the Midwest so I'm not subjected to those. As for the Mac vs. PC I don't mind them. I love my Mac, and if you start feeling sorry for Bill Gates, let me remind you that he's laughing all the way to the bank. Besides everything they say is true. Love my Mac!

What's been driving me crazy lately is the way the voice-overs on soup commercials pronounce soup. I mentioned this on Twitter the other day. They say seaup instead of soop. Why? I've never heard anyone pronounce soup that way except in commercials.

A reader e-mailed me her comment. It made me laugh, so I'm posting it on her behalf:

"I hate feminine product ads! I am not going to buy something because it has a pink flowered wrapper that is biodigradeable or is made out of recycled milk cartons! But they are still a close second to the Viagra ads."

Suzanne,

You are a stronger woman than me! Does lack of TVs run in your family? As I recall, your sister is TV-free, too.
